MGMT- Brian Eno
Uh, I’m apparently part of Academic Decathlon next year, so on a scale of one to ultimate dork, I think I’m like at a 9.5 now.

- Girls, “Heartbreaker”
Of Montreal- Id Engager
I’m looking at attending McGill in Montreal for college. I’d listen to this band all the time if I moved there and it would be kind of perfect.
Tame Impala- Expectation
I think I’d rather work in a sewage plant than ever work at Hobby Lobby, because at least at a sewage plant you wouldn’t have to restock bags of doll parts and Styrofoam shapes or listen to muzak all day.
Elliott Smith- Independence Day
Why am I even going to school anymore, I’m exempt from the majority of my finals, and it’s not like we’re even doing anything in class… We’ve been watching Dr. Doolittle for the past few days in my third period.
Camera Obscura- I Don’t Do Crowds
I almost peed in my car today because I had too much tea to drink, and I didn’t realize that the drive back home was as long as it was, I think the only thing that kept me from soiling my front seat was the thought of my beautiful baby car smelling like piss forever and ever. It was really that bad.
Seapony- So Low
It should honestly be a felony to poop at school.
Beach Fossils- Shallow
I saw my little sister perform in her school’s musical tonight, and it was really cute. She probably has a future in the performing arts, she’s such a little charmer. It rained mercilessly all day today, and I didn’t check the weather before I left the house this morning, so I wore toms and shorts and didn’t bring an umbrella, and I was sad and damp.
M. Ward- For Beginners
AP exams are kicking my ass. I had psychology yesterday, art history today, US history on Friday, and then English next Wednesday. GAhahgHAGH.
Starsmith- Champion
I used to really hate modern art, I never saw the point to it, and I didn’t think there was ever any skill involved. I went to the Fort Worth Museum of Modern Art today, though, and I realized just how beautiful some of it really is. There was this one gallery room though, and all of the paintings in it were by Sean Scully. I read the first title plaque and the piece was called “Catherine” and I thought, “That’s a coincidence, that’s my name.” I then looked at another name plaque. EVERY PAINTING IN THE ROOM WAS NAMED “CATHERINE.” AND MANY WERE PAINTED THE YEAR I WAS BORN. I’m not even sure how this happened, but it did, and it was a little scary. Don’t believe me?
